Already a rising star in the jazz world, Erica has begun to make her mark on the New York scene. At 26 she has established herself as one of the most in-demand young saxophonists in the city, having performed and recorded with Wynton Marsalis, Chris Potter, Sean Jones and The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. She approached me with the idea of creating a new image for the release of her debut CD. We wanted to get away from traditional jazz imagery for this shoot and emphasize the fact that she’s a female saxophonist in a male dominated field.
